How to determine age of a pennant.
Granted this is a subjective topic but after years of handling pennants I have noticed details that helps put a pennant into an era. Construction, material, labels, font, images and other visual and tactile information can help determine what era a pennant was constructed. New pennants are being made that resemble old pennants but the key to determining that your pennant is older or newer is the material. I wanted to get a micrometer out and measure the thickness of the wool but I may be going overboard! The worsting of the wool, moth holes, fading is an easier way to tell age. Older wool from the early to mid 1900s is stiffer and thicker. New wool blends are flimsy and softer. I will add more details soon.
